This is your s tep by step on how to configure your Outlook 2007 for email. Please note that some of the screen shots have information for demo purposes, make sure to follow the written instruction to be 100% clear on configuration.
Microsoft Outlook 2007 Step by Step Guild
- Make sure you have started Microsoft Outlook 2007. If this is the first time using Outlook 2007 a Startup Wizard will display. If this is the case then click Next. If you have already gone through a wizard and are just checking the settings to confirm you are correctly setup, Click "Account Settings" >> "New", then select POP3 and click Next.

- Account Configuration page, you want to choose Yes. This allows you to configure your email account. Click Next.

- Auto Account Setup page will appear, fill in the blanks:
- Your Name - Enter the display name that you want to appear here like your full name, business name or department. When you send an email this name is displayed for the recipient to know whom the email came from
- E-mail Address - enter your email address in full and make sure not to use any capital letters.
- Password - enter your password as created for your account. This is case sensitive so if you used lower case or capital letters make them the same here. You will be asked to do this 2 times.
- Manually configure server settings or additional server types. Check this box and click Next.

- Choose E-mail Service, choose Internet E-mail and then click Next.

- Internet E-mail Settings, enter the following details:
- Your Name - Again use your Full name or choose to type in your company name or department.
- E-mail Address - enter your email (use lower case)
- Account Type - Select POP3.
- Incoming mail server - Type mail.yourdomainname.com
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP) - Type mail.yourdomainname.com
- User Name - This is your email address. Please use your complete email address name and make sure it is all lower case.
- Password - Here you will Enter the password exactly as you have created it.
- Make sure to Select the Remember Password box and then click More Settings.

- Internet E-mail Settings - choose the Outgoing Server tab. Check the box that says "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" and select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

- Now choose the "Advanced" tab. Leave "Incoming server (POP3) at 110 and change "Outgoing server (SMTP)" to 26, and then click OK.
NOTE: If you have trouble sending email you can also try 25.

- You are almost there, now click "Test Account Settings" Your Microsoft 2007 will send a test message. Once this is complete, click Next.

- Click Finish.
